Banteay Srei and Angkor Thom District Halls Moving to Run Ta Ek and Pak Sneng

SIEM REAP: Prime Minister Hun Sen has announced that some land has been demarcated for the construction of the Banteay Srei and Angkor Thom district halls in the Run Ta Ek village area.

The decision to demolish the previous district hall buildings was because both were located in the Apsara Conservation Area, where further construction cannot take place in order to preserve the integrity of the heritage site.

The Prime Minister made this announcement this during a meeting with residents of Run Ta Ek village on Friday morning, 21 October 2022.
